Do you have a laptop you take home from work? Make sure you aren't putting personal information on it.

Video Transcript:

"Welcome back. This week let's talk about work issued laptops.
"If you have a laptop and you take it home for work, or for travel, or you work from home, whatever - one of the things that is easy to do, because you use it all the time is have personal information on there.
"That, we want to stress, you don't want to do. One, that information usually isn't being backed up and you don't usually have a way to back it up, because it's a corporate machine. Two, if it ever got lost somebody else could access that information from you, or the corporate office could pull that information out.
"So it's really important that you keep your personal stuff personal, like pictures and documents, and your work stuff on your work laptop. Don't mix the two.
"Don't take work stuff onto your personal one and don't put personal stuff on your work one. Just keep your life more simple and secure by keeping them separate.
"Also, make sure since we're talking about personal stuff that you back up your photos somewhere to a secure online server repository or something. Because if your hard drive dies, or you have a fire in the corner and you lose your computer, you don't want to lose all of that. Nobody prints pictures anymore - you don't want to lose years and years and years of family pictures.
"So make sure you take a good backup, put it in a safe somewhere or store it online.
"That's it for this week. Talk to you next week."
