Working from home can be a pain, in more ways than one. For some, working from home may seem a bit difficult or maybe even uncomfortable versus your space at the office. Odds are that you’ve got a well-designed, ergonomic workspace at your office. Your home office though, may be a different story and if you’re working from home right now, by the end of the day, your back, neck and shoulders might be screaming in protest. Here are three simple things you can do embrace ergonomics at home:

Number One: Adjust Your Chair

Most office chairs sold these days have at least a few ergonomic features built in, but you may not be getting the most out of them. The first place to start is with your seat height. Make sure you can sit comfortably with your feet firmly on the floor and check out the tilt angle to optimize it for comfort.

Number Two: Adjust The Angle Of Your Screen

Once you’ve got your chair adjusted, turn your attention to your monitor, either raising it, or adjusting its angle, or both as needed. Ideally, you want to be looking straight ahead when viewing your screen. If you’re spending all day with your head bent down and forward, your neck is going to be sore by the end of the day.

Number Three: Take Frequent Stretch Breaks

Understand that your home office may not be as ergonomically excellent as your usual workspace. You can counter the effects of a less ergonomic home working environment by remembering to get out of your chair every hour or so to stretch and to relieve tension.
